A principios de 2013, Cedric Bixler-Zavala anunció que no habría más The Mars Volta .
Este año, Bixler-Zavala y Omar Rodríguez-López, también de At the Drive-In, han unido sus fuerzas para iniciar una nueva banda llamada Antemasque.
Su debut homónimo LP verá la luz en octubre a través de su sello Nadie Sound. Fue grabado en marzo del 2014, y cuenta con la colaboración de Flea de Red Hot Chili Peppers y Dave Elitch- ambos ya participaron en algunos de los proyectos de The Mars Volta.
El álbum saldrá a la superficie en breve, y ellos se lanzan a la carretera, para iniciar una gira Americana y Europea, aunque de momento no los podremos disfrutar por España..
